Ken Jeong (DR. KEN, HANGOVER movies) is truly a national treasure. Listen in as Anna, Sim and Ken discuss Ken’s remarkable transition from successful medical doctor to comedic superstar, and why practicing medicine is a lot like acting. There is also another hysterical, improv-packed “Dealbreaker” series, and more #FYS than in any other episode to date. And sure to stay tuned til the end for a surprise finale!
Join us tomorrow for more fun when we take some listener calls in Part 2!
Part two of this week’s episode has a little something for everyone! First, Anna and Regina discuss their early inspirations and explain why it takes thoughtfulness to play someone stupid or insane. The ladies then pitch a remake of “The Golden Girls”—and even improvise a scene from the show! Regina also educates Anna and Sim as to why the classic sitcom “Good Times” is the most frustrating show in history. From there, the gang turns to listener calls. They first talk to Carolyn, whose friends are becoming a little too involved in her relationship. Anna, Regina, and Sim then give Jen advice about how to disinvite her drunk sister-in-law to her upcoming wine tasting bachelorette weekend.
Happy holidays, from Fistgina, aka Anna Faris and her Scary Movie co-star Regina Hall (WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS). Regina returns to Unqualified this week to reminisce with Anna about their Scary Movie days and even sing a few songs. (And yes, we explain what happened to Regina’s first episode!) Regina also describes her perfect penis for Anna and Sim, and the the gang discusses a promising new cure for constipation. They also play a hilarious round of “DealBreaker” with a new character: Chad. Then we’ll meet another new character named Sasha. Oh, and Kayla returns.
Regina King (American Crime, Southland, Jerry Maguire) reigns supreme on Unqualified this week. The 2015 Emmy winner and 2016 Emmy-nominated actress not only fields some of the most outrageous “Dealbreaker” questions to date (you’ll never think of the name “Heather” the same way), but beats Anna handily in a game of “Football Player or Stripper” (same goes for “Lucious Pusey”). Regina and Anna also practice accepting Oscars on each other’s behalf, read lines from a new stoner movie in a hilarious audition improv, and role-play a mother/daughter-in law having an unusual heart-to-heart. Later, Regina, Anna, and Sim talk to a newly-engaged woman whose fiancé’s family remains inappropriately close with his ex-wife.
The Unqualified crew calls in reinforcement from Chris Pratt to help out with some thorny issues this week. First, they talk to a married woman who is struggling to break off an affair with her married colleague—even though she knows it is both wrong and reckless. They then give some unqualified advice to a caller who has been secretly dating her BFF’s brother against her friend’s wishes. Anna, Chris, Sim, and Johnny have lots of thoughts about whether and how she should break the news—tune in and find out what they have to say!
Before this week’s episode, Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki was a podcast virgin. Anna and Sim make sure that his first recording experience is a memorable one, complete with with Unqualified-style relationship hypotheticals and, of course, a Tinder date improv with Anna. In Part 1, Johnny also explains why he gets excited about criticism, what advice Roseanne gave him upon getting his role on Big Bang Theory, and the surprising reason he got into a fistfight with his brother on Christmas morning. Later, Anna and Johnny contemplate male vs. female sexual insecurity, and Johnny shares a hilarious story about dating a woman who did voodoo.
Join us tomorrow for Part 2 when the gang (plus Chris!) hits the phone to dish out some unqualified advice.
Anna and Sim are gearing up for football season and need some advice about how to get their significant others to enjoy their first fantasy football seasons. So who better to call than ESPN fantasy football guru Matthew Berry? Listen in as Anna and Matthew strategize about how she can help Chris win his celebrity league–and beat out Chris Evans and John Krasinski! Matthew and Sim also discuss why women who aren’t normally football fans (like Matthew’s wife and Sim’s girlfriend) should give fantasy football a chance. But don’t worry, it’s not all football talk! Anna and Sim put Matthew through the ringer with a “Relationship DealBreaker or Not: Football Edition,” and find out that football statistics aren’t all he’s good at analyzing. Enjoy!
Carrie finds herself in an awkward situation: after scrolling through her boyfriend’s phone, she discovered some incredibly inappropriate texts. Her call to the Unqualified gang leads to a surprisingly thoughtful discussion on what constitutes “cheating.” Then, Anna, Sim, and Eric talk to Jessica, who is freaked out because the rich guy she’s currently dating may be too good to be true. By the way, if at times you feel like you’re listening to a completely different Eric Andre, there is a reason for that. TWIDDLED MY BEAN! You’ll find out what that means as well!
